John O'Reilly                     


John O' Reilly has long been recognised as one of the hardest working artists on the British blues scene.He has been described as a cross between Rory Gallagher and George Thoroughgood. His blues style incorporates elements of Texas and Chicago blues but also includes Jazz and Latin rhythms. In addition he plays rocking slide guitar reminiscent of the style of Johnny Winter.

John has also been recognised for his singing and song writing talents. His last CD release has had extensive air play in England and also selected stations in New York in the U.S.

He also recently backed the harp player 'Sugar Blue' on a recent Paul Jones Saturday blues show.Particularly favoured tracks are 'Cold Shoulder Chicken' and 'Blues Engineers'. The highly original 'Earning my Living' was penned with Peter Stroud who now plays with Peter Green's Splinter Group. John's backing band are called the Blues Engineers.
